How does using a subcontractor affect taxation?

You only pay taxes on your own share. The subcontractor is responsible for their own taxes.

If you use a subcontractor through Truster, taxation remains clear. When you share invoices with your subcontractor through the app, the app automatically distributes taxes correctly: you only pay taxes on the work you have done yourself, and the subcontractor pays taxes on their own share.

In practice, this means:

  • If your subcontractor has done all the work and you transfer the entire invoice to them, the taxes will be levied entirely on your subcontractor. You will have no taxable income. The taxes will be deducted in accordance with your subcontractor's own taxation.
  • If the work is done jointly and you transfer part of the invoice (e.g., 50%) to your subcontractor, both of you will only pay tax on your own share.

This way, you can be sure that your taxes are taken care of correctly and you don't have to worry about your subcontractors' taxes – you only pay taxes on your own work.
