Determining the tax rate

You can use your own tax card for salary income to help you estimate how much advance tax you should withhold. Remember to take into account both your potential salary income and the results of your business activities, i.e., income minus expenses.

You can see your company's current results in the income statement found in the Reports tab of the application. Please note that mileage allowances may also affect the result – if you use your car for business purposes and less than 50% of your annual driving is for business purposes. Mileage allowances are added to the result at the end of the year once you have submitted your driving log data.

If you find it difficult to estimate the tax rate, you can always ask the Tax Administration for advice – they will be able to advise you on your specific situation.

Setting the tax rate

Set the tax rate in the app under Company info > Tax rate.

If you do not set a tax rate, we will not withhold any advance tax. You can track your income throughout the year and update your tax rate at any time and as many times as necessary.

If you have been assigned advance tax payments by the Tax Administration, set the tax rate to 0 in the application. The Tax Administration or the entrepreneur themselves will estimate the amount of taxable income for the year, and the amount of advance tax will be determined based on this estimate. You must pay the advance taxes shown in OmaVero yourself by the due date, unless we notify you otherwise.

Please remember that we do not set the tax rate for you – you are responsible for keeping it up to date. We will also send you regular reminders by email to ensure that your tax rate does not expire without you noticing. This is exactly why you use Trusteria – to lighten the burden of entrepreneurship and reduce the number of things you have to take care of in your daily life.
