A driving log is the most important document for a light entrepreneur on the road. It is a record of your working hours and trips, and it shows the tax authorities when, where, and why you have been driving.
Why is a driving logbook necessary?
A driving log is required in order for us to pay you tax-free compensation. These include:
- Mileage allowances: When you drive your own car for work.
- Per diem allowances: When your business trip exceeds certain time limits.
- Meal allowances: In certain special fields.
You can claim these reimbursements when invoicing, provided that the trips are documented and you have agreed on their invoicing with the customer.
How do I fill in the driving log?
Accuracyis key. The tax authorities require that the exact address details be recorded for each stop: street name, street number, city, and postal code. Simply stating "Downtown" or the customer's name is not sufficient.
Tohelp you get started, we have created a ready-made template for you. It works in Excel or Google Sheets, so you can conveniently fill it in on your phone right after your drive.
