Can light entrepreneur unemployment benefits?

Unemployment security and light entrepreneurship: Did you know that you can try entrepreneurship for four months without losing your right to unemployment benefits?

Are you afraid that light entrepreneurship your unemployment benefits? This concern is often unfounded. As an unemployed person, you can try light entrepreneurship fairly safely.

Here's how it works:

  1. 4-month protection period: When you start a business while unemployed, the TE Office will not assess whether your business is your main or secondary occupation during the first four months. You can work as much as you want.
  2. Adjusted daily allowance: Your income does not automatically terminate your benefits; instead, they are adjusted. You will receive your salary for your work and a slightly reduced unemployment benefit on top of that.
  3. After 4 months: The TE Office will assess the situation. If the activity is considered part-time (and you are not employed full-time), your entitlement to the agreed support will continue.
