If you already have a business ID, we will retrieve your information and, if necessary, register your business ID with the VAT and/or withholding tax registers on your behalf.
In both cases, the business name service is activated in the same way. This article provides comprehensive information on the order process.

The request for authorization is pending confirmation
Once you've placed your order, you'll receive a notification in the "Tasks" section. In the first step, we need your permission—that is, your authorization—so that we can set up your business ID or activate your existing business ID.

The authorization request could not be sent
If the authorization request fails, you will receive a separate notification in the Tasks section. This is because the name displayed in the app does not match the one in the Suomi.fi service.
Your name in the app is taken from the online banking credentials you used to log in to our service. Sometimes the way your name is displayed in online banking differs from how it appears in the Suomi.fi service.
Once you receive the notification, please send a photo of your Finnish passport or ID card to our customer service team via a support request. Once we have manually processed your authorization request, we will delete the photos you sent.
The registration of the business ID is in progress
The granted permissions will be automatically updated for us within 24 hours. This process cannot be expedited, so you do not need to notify us separately that you have granted the permissions. The order will be updated automatically, and you will receive a notification as described in the subject line in the Tasks section as the order progresses. At this stage, we will open a business ID for you, or retrieve the details of your existing business ID and, if necessary, register it in the VAT and/or withholding tax registers.
Authorizations for accounting purposes
Toward the end of the ordering process, we will ask you to provide additional authorization—corporate authorization.
Business authorizations play a significant role in managing your taxes. Without business authorizations, we cannot file or pay your VAT returns, or file your business tax return on your behalf. Late filings result in a penalty imposed by the Tax Administration, which you are personally responsible for paying if the delay is due to incomplete authorizations. Please make sure to get your business authorizations in order without delay after receiving this notice.

Something's missing, but don't worry
The business ID has been created, but the registration is not yet complete.
Registering a new business ID typically takes 1–2 business days. No action is required from you at this stage. The process will move forward quickly from here.
Registering an existing business ID with the VAT and/or Withholding Tax Registry takes 3–4 weeks, depending on the Tax Administration’s schedule. During this waiting period, you may receive a request for clarification from the Tax Administration. If you need help filling out the request for clarification, please submit a support request to our customer service. Please send a copy of the clarification request you received and let us know what specific areas you need help with. Responding to the clarification request is mandatory in order for your business name to be approved for the registers andLight Pro Light to be activated.
Pro Light now activated
Your business ID has been added to the registry and your subscription has been activated. You can now start invoicing and adding expenses under your business name!
