Can I charge 0% VAT due to minimal activity?

As a light entrepreneur, you invoice using Truster's business ID, so VAT is always added to your invoices. Read why the VAT threshold does not apply here.

The VAT exemption only applies to companies with an annual turnover of less than €15,000. When you operate as a light entrepreneur without your own business ID, you use Truster's business ID for invoicing. As Truster a large company, we are required by law to add VAT to all invoices.

What does this mean for you?

  • You must add value added tax (usually 25.5%) to the price.
  • If you agree on a price of €100, for example, the invoice amount will be €125.50.
  • This is not a problem for corporate customers, as they can deduct VAT in their own tax returns.
  • For private customers, the price is always the total price including tax, so remember to take VAT into account when negotiating the price with the consumer.
