What is a Valtti card?

The Occupational Safety and Health Act requires that every person working on a construction site must have an ID card with a clear picture, the person's name, employer's details and tax number. The Valtti card means of identification that contains all this information and identifies the construction worker when he or she enters the construction site.

Valtti card and light entrepreneurship

All self-employed persons working on behalf of invoicing service companies, i.e. light self-employed persons, must have the text "Self-employed person" on their Valtti card. The new Self-employed Valet Cards were introduced in May 2023.

As a light entrepreneur, you can also sell your expertise to multiple clients and invoice all your assignments through the same invoicing service. This means that one Valtti card is enough for one light entrepreneur.

Valtti card via Truster

As a Truster light entrepreneur, you can subscribe to the Responsibility Group's Valtti card from Truster. A card ordered through Truster is only valid for work invoiced through Truster.

The cost of the Valtti card is €50 and will be deducted from your paycheck. The voucher will arrive within approximately two weeks. Within 1-2 working days, you will receive a temporary voucher in PDF format.

This is how you can order your Valtti card through Truster:

1. Tell us at Truster that you want to order a Valtti card and that you accept the terms and conditions.

2. Check that your Truster app has your tax card details on your account.

3. Send us a passport-style photo (see below for more details).

4. Indicate the address to which you want the voucher to arrive.

Great! Your Valtti card is now on its way.
