The Truster Pro Light service covers everything a business owner needs to deal with the authorities. We take care of all the different declarations for you - and this blog post will tell you all you need to know about VAT declarations.

Your only task is to grant us a company authorisation so that we can handle your VAT return on your behalf.

🔍 Why does MyTax show my outstanding balance?

If you have granted us a business authorisation, we have made your VAT declaration and the amount payable on the declaration will appear in MyTax. However, you do not need to do anything as we have paid the amount to the tax authorities and the amount due will be removed from MyTax by the day after the due date, i.e. the 13th.

📱 Why does the app say "missing" in the VAT data?
This is because VAT returns are always submitted after the end of the VAT period, according to the Tax Administration's timetable. This is why you may see a "missing" status for the most recent VAT period, as this period has not yet been declared or processed.

No worries - we'll take care of your declarations on time!

  • For monthly and quarterly declarants, the due date is the 12th of the second month following the month of the declaration.
  • Annual declarants must make their declaration and payment by the last day of February of the following year.

💰 When can I get a VAT refund?

Any refund will be paid to you according to the Tax Administration's schedule, typically one week after the due date of the VAT return. This cannot be accelerated by Truster.

📬 I received a prompt, what should I do?

The Tax Administration will send you a reminder letter if the VAT return has not been submitted by the due date. As a result, the tax authorities have estimated the amount of your tax. But don't worry, it is possible to correct the situation!

👉 Please visit us without delay to grant us a business authorisation. Once the Tax Administration has processed our application, you will receive a new decision, which will remove the estimated tax and the tax increase. You will be left with a late payment fee, which you can pay to the Tax Administration by the due date using the payment details.

🔎 How do I check if I have given you a mandate?

If you are unsure whether your credentials are in order, you can easily check in the Truster app:

Open menu > Company information > Tax payment information

If you see payment details, everything is OK. If the page is blank and no payment details are displayed, the credentials are missing. We will also contact you separately via the Truster app if we notice that your company authorization is missing.
